Tunisia-Hakim Ben Hammouda: Biggest failure of the government is its inability to provide vaccines

Speaking to Jawhara FM, Economic expert and former Minister of Finance Hakim Ben Hammouda addressed the challenging economic situation that Tunisia is going through. Criticizing the current political power, he asserted that “the biggest failure of the Hihchem Mechichi government is its failure to provide vaccines to Tunisians”, stipulating that it is a political responsibility and which does not fall in no way on the shoulder of health professionals.
h. “Not only have we not yet given vaccines to Tunisians but we do not yet have clarity on the start of the vaccination operation,” he lamented. In light of the latest figures, Ben Hammouda said that the nation will encounter great difficulties in the following months and that the government will be unable to keep its engagements .
To deal with it, he advocated the establishment of an economic state of emergency decreed by the National Security Council. “This is a national security issue. We need to establish a state of economic emergency that will require bold and swift decisions to save state institutions in danger and defend national sovereignty,” he added.
