Tunisia-Hatem Mliki calls for the dissolution of Parliament

Frozen MP Hatem Mliki today called on the President of the Republic to dissolve parliament and begin holding early elections.  More than 100 days have transpired since the activation of Article 80, the suspension of the work of the Parliament and the lifting of parliamentary immunity to all its members, he evoked.

He stated that the state could hold presidential, legislative and municipal elections on May 6, 2023, believing that 20 months is more than sufficient to change the electoral law and hold a referendum. Mliki further stressed that resigning MPs is not really a solution since each resigning will be succeeded by the next person on the electoral list.
