Tunisia-head of state promised very serious criminal proceedings against these people

President of the republic Kais Saied called for accelerating the audit of recruitment in the public service and for holding state agents responsible in the event of shortcomings or negligence.

“The services delivered by the Tunisian administration are secured by law (…) We must prosecute any individual who declines to cooperate in this sense (…) Any rejection to work and provide administrative services must be sanctioned (…) warned Saied.

Saied also called for criminal proceedings to be initiated against anyone implicated in the misappropriation of public funds, reaffirming that Tunisia’s wealth must be distributed equitably and away from criminal groups and lobbies.

It is recollected that the President of the Republic Kaïs Saïed chaired on Thursday, at the Carthage Palace, a working session dedicated to the audit of recruitment in the public service.

The session was characterised by the presence of the head of government Ahmed Hahani, the Minister of Justice Leïla Jaffel, the Minister of Finance Sihem Boughdiri Nemsia and the Minister of Industry, Mines and Energy Fatma Thabet Chiboub.
