Tunisia-Hechmi Louzir: Coronavirus cases are on notable decrease

 
 
Speaking to Express FM, president of the National Committee for the Vaccination against the Coronavirus Hechmi Louzir, said that the infections are down compared to the last weeks.
 
Louzir said that the number of cases registered on August 18 reached 108 cases, remarking that the peak of the last wave is behind us. Similarly, he added that the rate of severe cases is low compared to the old waves, knowing that 40% of people under the age of 40 have received the booster jab.
 
He ensured that the immunity of Tunisians has strengthened and the pandemic situation will be stable in Tunisia within six months as long as there is no new variant.
 
Louzir also cited the possibility of vaccinating children who suffer from chronic diseases will be at the centre of the next meeting of the scientific committee, planned for tomorrow, August 23, 2022.
