Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, member of the Independent High Authority for Audiovisual Communication Hichem Snoussi examined the latest decisions adopted by HAICA relating to the shut down of the Nessma channel and the “Quran Karim” radio station.
Snoussi stated these measures bear no connection to the events after July 25, recollecting that the first decision to confiscate the radio equipment in question was taken in 2017. He added that HAICA attempted to confiscate material from Nessma TV, nevertheless, it was able to rebroadcast thanks to the link established with a political party.
