Tunisia: Hospitals can no longer withstand a new wave of infections

Souheil Alouini, adviser to the World Health Organization (WHO) confirmed on Wednesday that the health system can no longer withstand another wave of contamination.

In a statement made to a radio station, Alouini expressed that Tunisian hospitals can no longer cope with a powerful wave of contamination for lack of material and human resources. He asserted that the positivity rate is continuously growing and has surpassed 20%.

He added that the wave of contamination by the Omicron variant quickly peaks and declines as quickly as other waves of contamination.
