Tunisia: increase in number of camel livestock despite difficulties [video]

Managing Director of the Breeding and Pasture Office  Ezzedine Chalghaf expressed that the sector suffers from several problems, including the persistence of drought, specifically in the south of Tunisian, the coronavirus pandemic, addition to the war in Ukraine, which contributed to a significant increase in the level of fodder.

In a statement made this Sunday to Tunisie Numérique, he added that this situation negatively impacted the breeder, confirming that a certain number of solutions have been suggested that could be exploited and lower the cost for the breeder, in addition, to Enlarging fodder culture areas.

The Director General of the Breeding and Pasture Office stated these projects should be implemented in the medium term.

And to indicate that there is an increase in the number of camel livestock, thanks to a national promotion plan for this sector and that camel farming likewise experiences difficulties due to the high cost of fodder.
