The President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed went this Sunday to the headquarters of the Central Pharmacy of Tunisia, where he chaired over the ceremony of receiving one and a half million doses of vaccine from Italy.
Saïed, who presided over this ceremony in the attendance of the Italian ambassador in Tunis Lorenzo Fanara wished to show him the appreciation of Tunisia, for its efforts in promoting fraternal relationships between the two nations and welcomed this last donation which gives new impetus to the relations of collaboration, solidarity and friendship between the two countries.
Kaïs Saïed further made a point of instructing Ambassador Fanara to send his gratitude to the Italian authorities and reassure them that he is the guarantor of rights and freedoms, opposite to the allegations of his detractors, and that ‘he will do everything to combat the scourge of illegal migration, and the gangs and networks behind it.
It should be noted that relations between Tunisia and Italy have known, for a certain period, exemplary growth, built on cooperation, but additionally on mutual respect. Italy was among the first countries to announce its support for the demands of the Tunisian people, and which has respected exemplary neutrality in regards to Tunisia’s internal affairs
