Tunisia-Jaouher Ben Mbarek: “The decision to dissolve parliament is unconstitutional and dangerous”

Professor of constitutional law, Jaouher Ben Mbarek remarked on the dissolution of the parliament by the head of the state, Kais Saied. “The decision to dissolve parliament is unconstitutional, dangerous and another unsupported aggression, of course. The question does not require to be explained, but it is politically inapplicable and unrealistic“, he said. “Saïed has treated parliament like a closed case since the beginning of his coup, and his decision adds nothing. But Parliament resumed its functions today and cancelled the coup measures and in turn, started to deal with Said outside the framework of the 117 regime, but rather from the perspective of constitutional legitimacy, which does not don’t give him the right to dissolve it, as he himself pointed out last night, but between yesterday and today, it’s another funny question,” he continued.
