A 62-year-old man died on Sunday at Abderrahman Mami Hospital in Ariana from coronavirus.
The deceased is from the town of Boussalem in the governorate of Jendouba. He suffered from chronic illnesses and was undergoing dialysis. He had contracted the virus in a clinic in the capital.
He had infected nine other people among his relatives and neighbours before his death.
His death is the first case observed in the Jendouba region, which has 25 COVID infections.
