On the sidelines of his participation in the 6th EU-AU Summit, the President of the Republic Kais Saied talked with Spanish prime minister Pedro Sánchez on the historical relations between the two nations as well as the possibility of consolidating further this partnership in financial and socio-economic terms.
The Head of State clarified to the Spanish official that the exceptional measures have been put in place to protect the Tunisian State while concentrating on respect for the independence of the judiciary, the values of democracy, freedom, human rights and the fight against corruption. He likewise highlighted the next steps for the forthcoming period.
For his part, the Head of the Spanish government said that his country is operating on new partnership programs with southern Mediterranean countries, calling on Tunisia to deliver its vision and its proposals to take advantage of these projects. According to him, the Spanish government is ready to strengthen its ties with Tunisia and encourage Spanish companies to set up in the country. Pedro Sánchez also emphasised the importance of lifting the veil on the truth of the situation in Tunisia and avoiding all rumours.
