The Public Prosecutor’s office at the First Instance Court of Kasserine decreed launching an inquiry after the passing of four people after drinking a toxic substance, apparently “methanol”, Deputy of the Public Prosecutor at this court Chaouki Bouazzi announced.
The Public Prosecutor further authorised the transfer the bodies to the coroner at the Kasserine Local Hospital to determine the sort of substance causing their demise.
According to the preliminary investigation, the three people who survived, drank a notable amount of “methanol”, adds Bouazzi. The investigation records the involvement of the owner of a dried fruit shop in the trade of this substance.
