Tunisia – Kasserine: cellulose factory executive apprehended for presenting false diploma

The Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of First Instance in Kasserine has explained that contrary to the rumours circulating on certain social networks regarding the circumstances surrounding the imprisonment of an executive from the Kasserine cellulose pulp factory, it has authorized the Research Sub-Department of the National Guard in Aouina to initiate a judicial investigation against a Factory Department head.

This action was taken following suspicions that the person had submitted a falsified academic certificate. After conducting required investigations and interrogating the suspect following legal procedures, the prosecution granted permission for his arrest for 48 hours, starting from February 6, 2024. The charges against him include fraud and the possession and use of forged documents. The investigation is continuing. It is also noted that the suspect is facing prosecution for additional crimes.
