Tunisia-Kasserine: More than thousand narcotic tablets intercepted

In a significant operation carried out by the National Guard units in Sbeitla, Kasserine region, a substantial narcotics haul was seized, dealing a significant blow to the drug trafficking network in the area.

During the operation, security forces arrested two people aboard a “Louage,” finding they were transporting a total of 1,185 narcotic tablets. This major seizure highlights the efficiency and alertness of the intervention units in combating the proliferation of illegal drugs.

The General Directorate of the National Guard, in its official press release dated Sunday, February 25, 2024, said that the suspects were caught while trying to move these substances across the region. The authorities swiftly initiated the required legal proceedings against the duo, showcasing the judiciary’s stringent approach to tackling the menace of drug trafficking.

This crackdown is a continuation of the Tunisian security forces’ steadfast efforts to curb drug trafficking and shield the community from the perils posed by the consumption of illicit drugs.

Furthermore, this action signifies the authorities’ devotion to preserving security and public order, underscoring the strict enforcement of the law.
