Tunisia – Kasserine Regional Labor Union denounces suspension of its general secretary

The Executive Office of the Kasserine Regional Labor Union condemned, on Tuesday, the suspension of the general secretary of the regional union, Sanki Assoudi, viewing it as “targeting” of the union organization.

On Tuesday afternoon, a security team apprehended the general secretary, Sanki Assoudi, as he returned from his workplace at the Regional Union to his house, and the grounds for this suspension are not yet clear.

In a press release published Tuesday evening, the Executive Office regarded the suspension of Assoudi as a new episode of arrests impacting the leaders of the Tunisian General Labor Union (Sfax and Béja), adding that this measure was aimed “ to target worker organizing and disrupt union work. »

The Executive Office of the Regional Labor Union of Kasserine has called the local general secretaries of the region to an extended meeting tomorrow Wednesday at the headquarters of the Regional Labor Union of the city of Kasserine to discuss this development and develop a “ “struggle” plan to safeguard the Tunisian General Labor Union, its leaders and its structures.
