Tunisia-Looted property: Ministry of Foreign Affairs disputes I Watch press release

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad stated that the press release which has just been issued by the “I Watch Organization” on the issue of the recovery of looted property and its return to the Tunisian people “shows the purely political nature of the agenda sought by this organization, which has nothing to do with the legitimate interest of Tunisians in retrieving these properties”.

Adding that it uncovers bad faith and ignorance, feigned or real, of judicial and diplomatic procedures. It additionally discredits the authors of this press release, as well as the foreign parties behind these organizations, who continue to fund and support them by all means.

In the end, the ministry emphasised that “This press release will have no influence on the authorities it targets, nor on their determination to continue their effort, in accordance with the aspirations of Tunisians, clearly expressed”.
