Tunisia – Magistrates consider open strike and collective resignations

The president of the association of young magistrates, Mourad Messaoudi, confirmed this Friday that the magistrates rejected the tries of Kaïs Saïed to take control of justice, and he denounced the rumours that the president continues to launch about magistrates, to denigrate them and to smear them in the eyes of the people.

He assured that the judges reject any grip on justice and that they will continue to campaign for the independence of justice, adding that they are regarding escalation actions that will follow the actions of President Saïed, and said that the judges are ready to go as far as an open strike and collective resignations.
