The spokesperson for the courts of Mahdia and Monastir, Farid Ben Joha, stated, this Friday, July 22, 2022, that the Mahdia prosecution ordered, yesterday Thursday, the detention of a young man from the region after having intentionally stabbed a security officer in Melloulech (Governorate of Mahdia).
In a statement to the TAP, Ben Jha declared that the man, aged about 30, is classified by security authorities as a “follower of extremist ideology”.
According to the same source, the individual attacked a security officer with a blunt object in front of the National Guard district of Melloulech.
