Tunisia-Medical caravan to diagnose rheumatic diseases

The Tunisian Antirheumatic League (LITAR) is arranging a medical caravan on Friday, October 13 under the banner “Together against rheumatism”, aboard a train which departs at 5 a.m. from Barcelona station in Tunis, heading to stations in the governorates of Sfax and Gabès. This initiative is part of the celebration of World Inflammatory Rheumatism Day, celebrated on October 12 each year.

Dr Ines Gmati, the representative of the Ministry of Social Affairs, told TAP on Wednesday that a voluntary team of specialist physicians will deliver a diagnosis of rheumatic diseases during this journey and explore joint damage, via consultations or radiological examinations.

During this event, rheumatologists will likewise provide a training session for general practitioners as well as medical and paramedical executives in Gabès and Sfax on the means of diagnosing rheumatism and osteoporosis given the lack of specialist doctors in these regions, added the same source.
