Tunisia-Minister of Commerce clarifies the reasons behind the lack of certain basic products

Trade Minister Fadhilha Rabhi talked about the lack of several basic products including semolina, rice and subsidized vegetable oil. “This shortage is not due to the height in prices but rather to the disruption of the grain market supply,” she said, remembering that the strike by agents of the Tunisian Stevedoring and Handling Company (STAM ) exacerbated this crisis.

For the rest of the products, Rabhi declared that the national production covers the needs of the local market in agricultural products such as eggs and red meats.
