Interior Minister Taoufik Charfeddine dismissed any political and partisan connection or proximity to President Kais Saied.
Speaking on Monday at the plenary session dedicated to the examination of the budget of his ministry, he said he had no knowledge of his candidacy for the post of Minister of the Interior by the Head of State, contrary to what many politicians claim.
