Tunisia – Ministerial council to prepare for start of school year

Prime Minister Ahmed Hachani, chaired a meeting this Friday bringing together several ministers to examine the preparation for the start of the school year.

To this end, several decisions were taken:

  • Regularization of the situation of 1,018 social educators (adult education, etc.)
  • Boost in social assistance for the benefit of 500,000 students from 50 to 100 TND
  • Rise in the premium for the integration of kindergartens for 25,000 beneficiaries from 50 to 70 TND
  • Help families to enrol their children in preparatory classes up to 100 TND
  • 120 TND of aid for 30,000 students from needy families
  • Availability of the subsidized workbook in all areas
  • Creation of 10 new schools between schools and middle schools and the creation of 400 new classrooms for preparatory classes
  • The provision of 95 buses for school transport
