Tunisia-Ministry of Health takes action for travelers

A meeting of the scientific committee took place on Monday at the headquarters of the Ministry of Health to examine the steps to be taken for travellers, as part of the fight against COVID-19. At the end of this meeting, it was resolved to take the following measures:

• Inform travellers of the new restrictive measures.
• Control of all travellers.
• Individuals showing symptoms of Covid or having a positive test are prohibited from travelling
• Obligation to present an RT-PCR test less than 72 hours before check-in for the trip
• Obligation to respect social distancing measures and wearing a mask throughout the journey
• Control of all travellers on arrival at border posts with the health form and obligation to download the computer application to ensure follow-up from arrival in Tunisia.
• Control by rapid tests on a random sample of travellers and compulsory confinement of positive people in quarantine centers, at their own expense.
• From Monday, November 16, obligation to respect a period of confinement of 14 days at home or in a specialized hotel, at the expense of the traveler. The health services will have to control the adaptation of the home to the conditions of confinement. In
• the absence of these conditions, the traveler will be interned in a containment center at his expense.
• Possibility of shortening the confinement to seven days, if a PCR test is carried out which comes back negative
  If symptoms of Covid appear during confinement, a PCR test will be performed at state expense.

If it is not possible to present a negative test on arrival:

Mandatory three-day confinement and carry out a PCR test at the traveller’s expense
If the test is negative, continued confinement at the hotel or at home for 14 days, with the possibility of shortening to seven days by means of a PCR test
In the event of returning from a short stay abroad (less than five days)
