Tunisia- Ministry of Human Rights launches online platform to assist foreigners in financial delicate situation

The Ministry of Human Rights, Relations with Constitutional Bodies and Civil Society declared on Monday the launch of an online platform on www.aide-covid19.tn to assist foreigners stranded in Tunisia in these circumstances of the pandemic.

The ministry considers foreigners in a situation of economic fragility, calling students, emigrants and asylum seekers as examples.

The electronic platform will make it feasible to obtain requests for assistance, formed by the persons involved or by the organisations representing them, to accept offers of donations and aid in kind and in cash which could be given by natural or legal persons.

The web site additionally tries to assist in the fight against the Coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic and to keep links with voluntary initiatives launched by civil society.

In this context, the Ministry highlighted the creation of a commission comprised of representatives of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Higher Education, national and international organisations and civil society to monitor the situation of some foreigners established in Tunisia.
