Tunisia-Nabil Ammar: Organization of Francophonie cannot remain silent in face of tragedy of Gaza

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Nabil Ammar, had on Thursday morning, October 26, 2023, at his request, a telephone discussion with the Secretary General of the International Organization of the Francophonie (OIF), Louise Mushikiwabo, on the bombing of Gaza and the necessity to put an end to it without delay.

“The minister, in his capability as president of the Ministerial Conference of the Francophonie, emphasised that the OIF, of which Tunisia is a founding country, cannot, in accordance with the basic values of the Francophonie, stay silent in the face of such a situation. catastrophic,” we read in a press release.

This interview took place, in particular, in the perspective of the following Ministerial Conference of La Francophonie which will take place in Yaoundé (Cameroon), under the Tunisian presidency on November 4 and 5, 2023.

The two officials agreed on the necessity to act for the practical implementation of the common values of respect for human life and living together, as recommended by the OIF and which should prevail throughout the world. “.
