Tunisia-Nadhir Ktari and Sofien Chourabi still alive, according to Nadhir Ktari’s father

Father of journalist Nadhi Ktari, Sami Ktari, said that his son and Sofien Chourabi are still alive, adding that the President of the Republic, Kais Saied raised this topic yesterday with his Libyan counterpart.

Sami Ktari added that an eyewitness alleged to have met Nadhir and Sofien in a jail in Libya indicating that he had given President Kais Saied news on the same subject before he went to Libya.

He also insisted that the two journalists are still alive and that he will return to Libya soon to resume his research.

In the same vein, he stated that this affair is political par excellence and that it had solid ties with the position of Tunisia towards the governments which succeeded one another in Libya as well as the affair of handing over former Libyan Prime Minister Baghdadi Mahmoudi to the Libyan authorities in 2011 after crossing borders.

Mr Ktari said at the same time that the Tunisian administration is not doing enough to unveil the truth.

According to the same source, the Tunisian government declined to allow the French foreign ministry to intervene in Nadhir and Sofiene case, recognising that the latter had taken this initiative himself.

He also said he presented the Interior Ministry with proof that his son was active on social media however that the ministry was not responding.
