Tunisia- Narratives of the black decade in Tunisia or how certain leftists allied with the Islamists destroyed the country?

Written by “Mohamed Ben Abderrazek

In a few weeks, the curtain will close, however, the catastrophe continues. The unprecedented crisis that Tunisia is encountering is the tangible child of the political system established since 2011.

The wizard apprentices of a certain left as well as the Islamists who have invested into the public arena since 2011 have been the vector of the destruction of the country.

Some leftists followers of Stalinism-Leninism who supported during their dull and fruitless ideological debates in the corridors of Tunisian universities for decades an even socialist state, or even revolutionary as well as followers of allegiance to the brotherhood of Taliban desiring to establish an obscurantist and medieval state, together brought the state to ruin and subdued the people to abject poverty.

Once in control, this conglomerate composed of Islamists and some left which accepted to execute the Harkis of the system took hold of the will of the voters who did not even believe for a second to have mandated these “constituents” to set up such a feeble political and electoral system, which is tailor-made and following “revolutionary” doctrine.

Serving as an alternative to the power in place that they have long accused of corruption and authoritarianism, the post-2011 political system was far worse and turned power into a  legislative and executive trinity which is dislocated, powerless and above all incompetent. It further made the state a prize to be shared between political parties and foreign and local lobbies of all kinds.

Actual followers of Pensée unique, the acolytes of the new post-2011 system tax as conservatives, all those who dared to criticize them and those who do not adhere to the revolutionary vulgate established since the “revolutions” of the Arab Spring, whose four truths have been exposed by emails from Mrs Clinton.
A decade of sabotage was enough for public services to disintegrate under the pressure of exaggerated social demands and the subversion of certain trade unionists who have appropriated the entire public sector and the examples are lamentably numerous.

Certainly, national education has sustained the full brunt of the abuse of union work and social demands. These commands have damaged the public school, formerly a respectable one despite difficulties, with frequently unjustified salary raises as it threw the pasture of generations of students in the embrace of ignorance because of constant strikes and unending vacations because of COVID-19 and others. as well as adding the legions of failures to the 100,000 students who quit school each year to moreover fill prisons and reception centres for illegal immigrants.

Public transport is also sinking under the influence of stashed gang who have immobilized public rail transportation for meal tickets. Also, The vandalized extraction by other bandits who have conquered the production areas in the basin mining and Al Kamour depriving the country of billions of dinars.
With a profound stock of public debt reaching 94,068 million dinars for the current year, the state coffers are drained, its funds wasted and the budget out and rigged up day by day.

The speeches and electoral commitments of political classes will fill neither the plates nor the wallets of millions of poor and 623,000 unemployed. Other legions will be added because of the crisis due of the pandemic that is raging the country and workers and entrepreneurs, the cash cow of the tax authorities and the sacrifices of the strongest tax burden in the region and the continent.
In a decade, Tunisia has converted an industrial and economic desert under the subversion of smugglers and other economic crime syndicates which absorbed 25 to 39% of the economy, with monster turnover reaching 31,000 million dinars and now bequeathed with political arms.

No need to be a specialist in economics to understand that every Tunisian knows, sees and observes every day the exhaustion of pockets, unemployment which is on the loop, a dead economic activity and a darkened horizon.
The crisis towards which Tunisia was hastened is neither a slowdown nor a recession, it is a true descent into hell and a collapse whose unprecedented dimension transcends those of previous crises because this time it’s structural and backed by a decline and an unprecedented policy. It spares nothing in its path and jeopardies irreversibly destroying public finances, production systems and investment.

Eventually, a tragic harvest for this decade deformed by all sorts of economic, social and political ills and characterised by public and private morals which have hit the bottom of decay under the impact of corruption, which has become the country’s leading institution.
Nevertheless and notwithstanding the darkness of the picture, drawn with high ardour by an unqualified political class, getting up is not difficult, because similar Stalinism and Nazism, the third wave of globalized Islamo-fascist totalitarianism sponsored by a certain internationalist left which torments the Arab-Muslim world of which our nation is part, will recover its natural path, particularly that of the dustbin of history. It is inevitable!
