Tunisia-National Coalition Party calls on Saied to open a genuine national dialogue

The Tunisian National Coalition Party has revealed that it is following with significant concern recent developments on the country’s political scene, in particular, what was cited in Presidential Decree No. 30, such as the composition of a national advisory body on the launch of a new Republic.

The party wishes to express its complete rejection of the way in which the President of the Republic, Kais Saied, continues in the management of the affairs of the country, which is marked by improvisation and individualism through the intentional and unjustified exclusion of different active national forces, including national organizations and political parties. The party joins the rest of the national voices in denying this unilateral path, which endangers the accomplishments of the Revolution resulting from political pluralism and democracy and alerts of the danger of its repercussions on the internal situation and on the international reputation of Tunisia.

It also warns against the monopolization of power at a time when Tunisia requires all its energies and skills to face the profound economic crisis it is going through. The Party likewise calls on the Head of State to amend and rectify his policy and to accelerate the opening of an actual comprehensive and urgent national dialogue to rescue the country before it is too late. It calls on all national forces to coordinate their efforts and strengthen consultation and dialogue in order to deal with any try to deviate from power.
