Tunisia-Plenary session for confidence vote for PM Jemli government to be held today

The plenary session devoted to the confidence vote in the submitted government will begin on Friday at 9:00 a.m., said Assessor of the Speaker of the House of People’s Representatives (HPR) in charge of information and communication Nesrine Laâmari

The plenary will be assigned to the display of the government programme before beginning discussions. Each MP will be provided about a 3 minute-speech.

The powerful majority of deputies (109 votes) is required for the proposed government to win the confidence vote.

The plenary schemes for the confidence vote are as follows:

  • A review of the government programme, as well as an overview of its members, will be allocated to MPs before the opening of the confidence-vote plenary.
  •  The HRP Speaker then inaugurates the plenary session and gives the platform to the PM-designate. The later will give an overview of the new government’s work plan and its proposed members.
  • The floor will be then given to MPs then to the PM-designate again to answer deputies’ questions.
  • The session is adjourned and will continue on the same day for the confidence vote.
  • The vote of confidence will be granted once for all the proposed government members.
