Tunisia-President Saied and Mechichi examine the general situation in the country

The President of the Republic Kais Saied received Wednesday afternoon, Prime minister Hichem Mechichi at  Carthage presidential palace.

The meeting concentrated on “the general situation of the nation, and in special the economic and social situation marked by demonstration movements in several regions”.

The President of the Republic emphasised on this occasion the imperative to secure the supply of Tunisians in the various regions of the country with necessary products.

He called for the application of the law to all those who desire to block the roads and stop the delivery of food and basic products to citizens.

Kais Saied likewise insisted on the necessity to “join efforts to surmount the financial difficulties that the country is going through, avoiding divisions”, and “to place the interests of the homeland and citizens above all other considerations. “.
