The Ministry of the Interior has issued a traffic advisory today, Saturday, to handle the anticipated increase in traffic at the southern entrance of the capital following the conclusion of the second term school holidays. This advisory comes in anticipation of heightened traffic congestion, mainly due to constant road rehabilitation efforts.
To mitigate potential disruptions and preserve smooth traffic flow, the ministry recommends several alternative paths for commuters returning to the capital from inland regions:

Use National Road No. 1, entering through the interchange towards Radès stadium, proceeding to the Nouvelle Médina interchange, then to the Chouchet-Rades interchange, and onwards to the Radès bridge and La Goulette, before attaining the capital’s centre or the northern suburbs. Alternatively, exits are available at the ramp beside the Randa Factory or the Housing Bank leading to the Chouchet-Rades Bridge, then towards the Radès Bridge.

Another alternative is to take the La Cagna bridge, pass through the Wardiya 1 and 2 interchange towards Bab Alioua square, then over the bridge to Al-Moncef Bay street, and finally onto rue du Maghreb Arabe (route Z 4).
In its announcement, the ministry urges all drivers to comply with traffic laws, observe road safety measures, and take essential precautions, which include:
- Avoiding speeding.
- Not perpetrating traffic violations.
- Refraining from employing a cell phone while driving.
- Always wearing a seat belt.
- Not carrying passengers in vehicles not designed for passenger transport.
- Remaining vigilant while on the road.
- Ensuring that cargo or luggage does not block the driver’s view.
- Regularly inspecting vehicles’ technical conditions to prevent malfunctions and accidents.
- Avoid driving when feeling tired or exhausted.
These measures are devised to facilitate a safer return for commuters and to guarantee the efficient flow of traffic during this busy period.
