More than a thousand demonstrators assembled today in front of the French embassy in Tunis to voice their dissatisfaction with France, accused of unconditionally supporting Israel in the context of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The rally was organized at the call of the UGTT and saw Tunisians voice their solidarity with the Palestinians in their fight against Israel.
France’s unconditional support for the Israeli government in the conflict with the Palestinian movement Hamas in Gaza arouses indignation among the Tunisian population.
The organizers of the march and many demonstrators believe that the French government should adopt a more neutral position in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and promote peace and justice.
The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs has not yet reacted to the protests in Tunis.
