“The transport sector confronts several challenges such as the delay in investments and the decline of transport infrastructure (equipment, vehicles, stations, etc.)”, recognized today by the Minister of Transport Rabie El Majidi during a plenary session organized at the House of People’s Representatives.
Rabie El Majidi was keen to guarantee that the future of this sector will be founded on sustainable transport through investment in electric urban rail transport which makes it possible to reduce pollution and transport a large number of passengers at lower cost at the level fuels which represents a considerable burden on the State budget. “We want to return to the figures of the 1970s when 70% of Tunisians used public transport,” adds the minister.
