Tunisia-Red crescent scales up efforts in the fight against coronavirus

 

The Tunisian Red Crescent of Ariana coordinated with the regional committees of Raoued, Soukra, Ariana Medina and Kelaat El Andaluus to mobilize effort in the battle against the coronavirus, the virus has killed six and infected 173 in Tunisia.

The red crescent developed An outline to counter the pandemic spread. Doctors provided training for volunteers to present essential information and preventive measures to conduct field sensitizing campaigns.

The Red Crescent further supported the health ministry in answering calls from citizens on the coronavirus pandemic.

Awareness audio messages were also broadcasted through loudspeakers in the streets of Ariana and the major stores. The committee likewise placed its resources in the hand of public institutions by installing tents outside.

Moreover, media teams were formed to distribute brochures and awareness video on social media. Another milestone is providing psychological help for citizens and volunteers alike as well as participating in cleaning operations.

Volunteers were also dispatched to aid the Tunisian post office to help implement safety measures

The Tunisian Red Crescent in Ariana further began a campaign to collect donations for the acquisition of tents, food, cleaning materials and sterilization materials.
