Tunisia-Registration file of Djerba as a UNESCO World Heritage Site approved

The registration file for the island of Djerba as a UNESCO World Heritage Site has been accepted by the World Heritage Committee, after being altered after 2020. A UNESCO ICOMOS Inquiry Commission will visit, during April, the archaeological sites suggested for inscription on the UNESCO World Heritage List, a source informed of the Association for the Safeguarding of the Island of Djerba told a media.

The same source said that this committee will submit its report to UNESCO, so that the Djerba file can be submitted to the vote by the member countries, provided that the last announcement is made 18 months after the date of the committee’s visit.
