Bilateral collaboration and the matter of looted money were the centres of a phone call between President Kais Saied and President of the Swiss Confederation Simonetta Sommaruga.
Cited in a statement by the Presidency of the Republic, the two counterparts reaffirmed the readiness to intensify bilateral cooperation and diversify its areas.
The Swiss official hailed the production of a special committee within the Presidency of the Republic to follow up on this issue, ensuring that her country’s authorities have spared no effort to resolve this file in recent years.
In this regard, the President of the Swiss Confederation asked the Tunisian side to further mobilise before the expiry of the legal deadlines (July 2021).
For his part, the Head of State embraced the support given by Switzerland to Tunisia to complete the process of democratic transition, expressing the wish to see bilateral cooperation further developed in light of the socio-economic challenges faced by Tunisia.
President Kaîs Saied called, in this vein, to consolidate cooperation in the fields of health, communication technologies, vocational training, higher education and scientific research.
