Tunisia-Saïed calls for meeting the needs of the army due to the international situation

The President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, believed that the successive celebrations and festivals echoed the richness of Tunisia’s history. “We are a state that does not forget its history, which recalls the distant past as well as the recent past… You have accomplished feats in all fields,” he said.

Speaking on the occasion of the 66th anniversary of the creation of the Tunisian army, the Head of State highlighted the exploits of the Tunisian army despite the lack of means and equipment. He sensed that this was the result of a will of steel. He felt that it was time to respond to the needs of the armed forces, particularly given the unprecedented political situation internationally.

Referring to the issue of terrorism and the sacrifices of the Tunisian army, Kaïs Saïed recollected that it was an international scourge and that the Tunisian army had boosted its equipment with its own means in order to combat this phenomenon. . He likewise cited the participation of the Tunisian army in preserving social peace at the national level and the participation in peacekeeping operations abroad.

The Head of State also returned to the dedication of the Tunisian army in the fight against the spread of the Coronavirus and the deployment of mobile teams in the mountains and rural areas in order to contribute to the national campaign of vaccination. “You have completed a record that I would cite with great pride. 50,000 citizens had been vaccinated within an hour,” he said.
