Tunisia-Saïed examines project of Code of State Domains

President of the Republic, Kais Saïed, welcomed, on Monday, November 7, 2022, the Minister of State and Land Affairs, Mohamed Rekik, who presented to the Head of State the project of the Code of Domains of the state.

The President of the Republic recollected that other projects have been presented but they have never been applied. He remarked that in history the legal texts have been set up in Tunisia in order to permit the colonizer to get their hands on Tunisian state lands since the 1980s of the 19th century.

He clarified that neglecting the question of getting their hands on public goods under the coverage of the law has passed without proceedings, for years.

Saïed confirmed that it is essential to preserve the domains of the State and to no longer tolerate those who are getting their hands on public goods.

In addition, the President of the Republic raised the question of the creation of civil societies and the hardships that citizens find for their launch under the pretext that the texts of law do not authorize this.

The Head of State called to promulgate a new decree for this sort of society by taking into account the old texts in order to avoid contradictions.

The President of the Republic also denounced the attempts of some to put obstacles in order not to allow young people to launch their societies.
