Tunisia-Saïed pays tribute to Palestinian journalist Shireen Abu Akleh

The President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, sent his condolences to the Palestinian people following the slaying of journalist Shireen Abu Akleh, during his meeting with Palestinian Minister of Public Works and Housing Mohamed Ziara, this Friday, at the Carthage Palace.

“Let us console ourselves after the assassination of the martyrdom of freedom of thought and expression (…) The purpose was to get rid of her but they will not be capable to harm freedom (…) Shireen Abu Akleh will be remembered as a free voice talking from the battlefields,” he said. He added: “She scared them when she was alive and they attempted to seize her coffin today as she scares them even dead (…) but she will remain immortal in the spirit of every free person in the world”.
