Tunisia – Sfax: A lady living abroad is supposed to teach and received payments of up to 50 MD

The regional delegate for education of Sfax 1, Mohamed Kacem, confirmed today that “the conclusion taken by the supervisory authority, against the secretary general of the university branch of basic education of Sfax, and former director of the primary school, Anatole France, Abdel Karim Souissi, by suspending him and removing his functional title, and by directing him to the Disciplinary Council… is an administrative decision, as mandated by law, is because of the administrative mistake he made, which was to sign a memo allowing one of the teachers to begin working while she was outside the country’s borders, which meant that The teacher in question benefited from payments amounting to more than 50 thousand dinars without valid reason.

The regional delegate was reacting to the parents of students at the Anatole France school who stopped their children from joining their classes to protest against this decision.

He added in a statement to TAP that “the teacher’s job application was submitted by the husband to the director of the aforementioned primary school, while the individual concerned must legally present the application herself and not using a power of attorney.”

It should be mentioned that basic education union executives in Sfax met last week, at the headquarters of the Regional Labor Union, in the presence of the general secretary of the General University of the Education Union of base, Nabil Al-Haouachi, against the backdrop of the decision to preventively suspend from work the secretary general of the university branch of basic education of Sfax, Abdel Karim Souissi, they suggested a certain number of militant movements, to be executed immediately after the holidays.
