Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, Adel Zarkani, owner of a bakery in Sfax, expressed that the bakers decided this morning to meet at the headquarters of UTICA in Sfax in order to announce a strike. He added that the latter are no longer capable to pay the wages of their workers or fulfilling a set of expenses including the acquisition of raw materials.
The bakers also confirmed that they have not received their bonuses for 10 months, calling this unacceptable. A bakery owner emphasised the need to implement the law relating to the production, display and sale of bread and to stop modern bakery owners from selling bread.
