Substitute teachers called, in a protest they led this morning, Wednesday, April 24, 2024, in front of the Ministry of National Education headquarters, to regularize their professional statuses, considering that “their contracts are precarious. »

The spokesperson for the Coordination of Substitute Teachers, Noureddine Fatnassi, declared to the media: “Our requirement for this approach is to regularize the professional statuses of substitute educators who have been waiting for more than six years, despite the adoption demands by the structures of the General Federation of Basic Education.

He believed that the contracts of substitute teachers which bind them to the Ministry of Education are weak and do not give rise to an assignment, calling on the supervisory authority to regularize the situation by direct assignment and to sit at the table dialogue to discover solutions and the essential agreement in the Official Journal so that it is binding for everyone, as he said.

Fatnassi explained that the number of substitute teachers does not surpass 3,500 who have fragile contracts with the Ministry of Education which do not exceed 9 months, with a net salary estimated at 800 dinars. However, they had previously accepted to be hired with a salary of 1,250 dinars.
