Tunisia-Tataouine: Regional Labor Union calls for strike in Nawara and El Wèha oil fields

The Regional Labor Union in Tataouine called for a three-day strike in the Nawara and El Wèha oil fields, as of November 30, 2020.

In a press release, the Union indicated that this strike is caused by the breakdown of negotiations with the Austrian company OMV concerning the removal of 50 of its employees operating in production centres and in central administration, including union members.

The regional union deemed this to be a flagrant breach of the labour code and international conventions ratified by Tunisia.
