Tunisia-Thouraya Jeribi :Unfortunately, the number of prisoners and detainees increased after it decreased during the COVID-19 period

The Minister of Justice, Thouraya Jeribi, confirmed the prisons contained about 24 thousand prisoners, of whom two-thirds were detainees, noting that there were only 16 thousand prisoners in prisons and correction centres during the period of the COVID-19 pandemic, which enabled the ministry to reach the standards International in the deposit, which stipulates the provision of about 4 meters for each prisoner, while Tunisia allocated about 3 meters for each prisoner.
