The general directorate of national security reported that its security units in Tozeur intercepted an individual from outside the region who allegedly intentionally transported a group of sub-Saharan people from the palm groves of Tozeur aboard a truck.
This person was apprehended on the ring road linking the delegation of Degâch to the town of Gabès, accompanied by 11 people of various African nationalities.
During his interrogation, he confessed that at the start of 2023, he had met two individuals who offered him work in the transport of sub-Saharan Africans in exchange for monetary compensation of 1,000 dinars per trip. He also confirmed that he had carried out similar operations on several occasions with the brothers mentioned.
