National Guard agents, following intelligence work, ambushed smugglers who were passing via the Tebourba region.
These agents intercepted three smuggled cars, filled with smuggled cigarettes worth 60 thousand dinars.
At the time of the detention, the driver of one of the cars intentionally ran over an agent with his car. The agent suffered several injuries and fractures and was moved to the Kassab institute in La Manouba, where his condition was considered stable.
The smugglers were arrested and faced two charges, for smuggling and attempted murder.
