Agents from the Tunis-Medina National Security District succeeded in catching a taxi driver accused of robbing a client’s jewellery and money, Mosaique FM reported.
The inquiry reported that an old woman took a taxi to downtown Tunis. However, when she got there, the driver of this taxi stole her bag containing jewellery and approximately 600 dinars before escaping.
By consulting the recordings of the surveillance cameras in this area, the officers were capable to identify the driver. A raid was carried out at his home and the stolen bag was restored to its owner. The prosecution ordered the accused’s detention pending trial.
