Foreign Minister Othman Jerandi condemned the comments of the head of the Libyan government Abdelhamid Dbeibah on the sidelines of the meeting of neighbouring countries of Libya which was held in Algeria.
The latter had said that terrorism arrives in Libya from Tunisia. Jerandi told his Libyan counterpart Nejla Mankouch of his “astonishment” and “rejection” of such accusation.
He maintained that these statements were unwelcome especially at this time when Tunisia, as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, is operating hard to effectively contribute to the establishment of security and stability in Libya. “Our country is likewise targeted by terrorism and can in no way be a base for its export to Libya,” Jerandi said.
