The Tunisian Sexual and Reproductive Health Association Executive Director Arzak Khintich declared the incorporation of sex education in school curriculums ,the subject will be taught from kindergarten starting December 2019.
The initiative comes in collaboration with United Nations Population Fund, Arab Institute for Human Rights and under the supervision of the ministry of education.
According to her, sexual education will not be taught as an independent subject but will be blended into other topics such as Arabic, physical education and earth sciences through the opening of debates to correct misconceptions.
Regarding preschool levels, the subject will be presented through simplified lessons that offer awareness-raising courses to protect children against harassment .
