The fourth wave took place from September 20 to 28, 2021. The sample size after screening is 2445 respondents.
Despite numerous national vaccination days, 10.2% of Tunisians remain reluctant
When questioned”Are you going to get vaccinated?”, 20.7% of respondents say YES.
The reluctant represent 10.2% of respondents with 6.7% rejecting the vaccine and 3.5% still not sure whether they are going to be vaccinated or not.

Those under 30 are the most uncertain:

  • 17.4% decline the vaccination and 14.6% still hesitate to be vaccinated.
  • They are additionally the smallest segment of the population who have been vaccinated as only 33.3% of those under 30 report having received the vaccine.

Pfizer-BioNTech ranks first!

Replying to the question, “If you are going to get the vaccine and you have a choice, which COVID vaccine will you pick?” The respondents chose:

Confidence to get vaccinated but also a proposed vaccine that is not suitable

Asking the question, “Why are you not going to get vaccinated?”, It turns out that lack of confidence is the most prominent barrier to getting vaccinated.
Indeed, 47.9% of those who will not be vaccinated do not trust the vaccines, approximately the same proportion as in wave 3 (47.7%).
19.6% of those who do not get vaccinated are against vaccination in general. 19% claim that they have already been sick and are consequently immune. 14.7% are because the proposed vaccine is unsuitable.
Progress of the vaccination campaign
77.5% of those who have already been vaccinated received the 2 doses of vaccine against 22.5% awaiting the booster.
86.1% of those vaccinated claim to have had no or simply mild effects. They are 61.7% to have received Pfizer-BioNTech as a vaccine
